Job Description
Job Overview The Dietary Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the food service operations within our facility. This position is responsible for managing the dietary staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation. The ideal candidate will have a background in the food industry, long term care and supervisory experience. Duties Supervise daily operations of the dietary department to ensure efficient food service delivery. Manage and train kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation personnel, to uphold regulatory standards. Oversee meal planning and preparation to meet dietary needs according to physician and dietician orders. Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations in all food production processes. Follow facility menus according to recommendations put forth by dietician. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and place orders as necessary to maintain stock according to set budget. Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning. Address any issues or concerns related to food service promptly and effectively. Skills Ability to manage a team effectively, fostering a positive work atmosphere. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food production processes. Strong communication skills for interacting with staff, residents, and other departments. Facility will assist in obtaining Dietary Manager Certification.
