Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Dining Service Director to lead our culinary and dining operations within a senior living environment. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional nutritional services, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and fostering a warm, welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff alike. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for nutrition, strong leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of dietary management in assisted living and memory care settings. As a key leader, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all dining services to promote health, safety, and satisfaction. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles, patient assessments, and dietary needs tailored to individual residents or patients. Supervise the dietary department staff, including dietitians, cooks, servers, and support personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on excellence. Ensure all food safety management protocols are strictly followed, including proper handling of tube feeding supplies, food storage standards, and sanitation practices aligned with health regulation policies. Oversee the management of electronic health records (EHR) related to nutrition and care plans to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations. Conduct diagnostic evaluations of residents' nutritional status and physiology to tailor interventions that support optimal health outcomes. Manage budgeting responsibilities for the dining services department, including procurement of food supplies, equipment maintenance, and staffing costs. Lead efforts in health coaching by educating residents on nutrition and wellness strategies that promote independence and quality of life. Monitor compliance with all relevant health regulations and policies while continuously seeking opportunities for process improvement within the dietary department. Experience Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare settings with a focus on dietary management or clinical nutrition. Demonstrated supervising experience with team management responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety, patient assessment, and acute care standards. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing care plans and documenting nutritional assessments. Background in managing dietary departments within senior living communities or healthcare facilities with expertise in budgeting and resource allocation. Knowledge of food safety management practices combined with leadership skills necessary to guide multidisciplinary teams toward shared goals.
