Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Dietary Manager to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will support the management of dietary services within an assisted living or healthcare setting, ensuring that residents receive nutritious, safe, and appealing meals that meet their individual health needs. Your leadership will help foster a positive food service environment, promote compliance with health regulations, and enhance residents' overall well-being through excellent nutrition and care planning. Duties Assist the Dietary Manager in overseeing daily food service operations, including meal preparation, presentation, and service delivery. Supervise food production teams to ensure high standards of food safety, quality, and consistency are maintained at all times. Collaborate with healthcare staff to develop and implement personalized care plans that incorporate nutritional goals and dietary restrictions. Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition needs, including evaluating for tube feeding requirements and diagnostic evaluations. Manage food service budgets, monitor inventory levels, and ensure cost-effective purchasing aligned with budgetary goals. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies and food safety management standards, including proper documentation in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Provide leadership in managing food service teams, supervising staff performance, training new employees, and fostering a team-oriented environment. Oversee food production processes to ensure adherence to dietary guidelines, physiology considerations, and clinical nutrition standards. Monitor food service health code compliance through regular inspections and staff training on hygiene practices. Support the implementation of care plans by coordinating meal schedules that meet residents' nutritional needs and preferences. Participate in ongoing education on acute care practices, health coaching techniques, and updates in dietetics regulations. Experience Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare food service management with a strong understanding of dietary department operations. Demonstrated supervisory experience managing food service teams within a clinical or institutional setting. Knowledge of health regulation policies related to food safety management and EHR/EHR systems for documentation purposes. Background in managing budgets, inventory control, and food production processes effectively within a healthcare environment. Familiarity with patient assessment procedures including nutrition screening, tube feeding protocols, and diagnostic evaluation integration. Experience working with care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles tailored to individual resident needs. Strong leadership skills combined with excellent communication abilities to motivate staff and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of physiology as it relates to nutrition support and acute care requirements is highly desirable.
