Part-Time Kennel Attendant - Shift Leader Join our dynamic team as a part-time Kennel Attendant - Shift Leader, where your passion for animals and leadership skills will shine! In this vital role, you'll oversee daily kennel operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal care, safety, and customer service. We are currently hiring for Saturday and Sunday morning shifts, 7:30 AM-12:30 PM. Additional hours may be available based on business needs and availability. Weekend work is required, and holiday availability may also be needed. You'll coordinate pet care activities and maintain a clean, organized environment that promotes the well-being of every animal in our facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on pets' lives while developing your leadership abilities in a fast-paced, pet-focused setting. Responsibilities Independently lead shifts while also working with a team to oversee animal handling and care Oversee daily kennel operations, including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and exercise routines for dogs Ensure all animals are handled safely using proper restraint techniques and are monitored for health or behavioral issues Assist with dog enrichment activities to promote good behavior and socialization among pets Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior observations, and care activities in compliance with facility standards Uphold safety protocols by managing heavy lifting tasks and ensuring the proper use of equipment to prevent injuries Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with pet owners and visitors Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both pets and people
Schedule Part-time Saturday & Sunday:
7:30 AM-12:30 PM Additional hours may be available Weekend and holiday work is required Must be reliable and consistently available for scheduled shifts Skills & Qualifications Proven experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or pet sitting with a strong understanding of animal care best practices Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable Ability to safely handle animals using restraint methods appropriate for different breeds and temperaments Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during busy shifts Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and manage shift responsibilities efficiently Must be 18+ to apply per our insurance policy Must be comfortable working independently and able to self-manage Must be dependable, responsible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Join Our Team!
