TITLE:
School Nutrition Manager
REPORTS TO
School Nutrition Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Cafeteria Manager, under limited supervision, performs supervisory and administrative work directing the operations of an assigned school cafeteria in compliance with the USDA and other federal, state and local rules and regulations; Supervises, trains, and manages all cafeteria employees within a school's food service operation; Demonstrates effective leadership skills and management ability; Serves as the primary liaison between School Nutrition Services and the school community.
QUALIFICATIONS
ServSafe/NC Safe Plate Certification (must be current) High School diploma or GED equivalency A minimum of two (2) years food service experience in Bladen County Schools School Nutrition program; or three (3) years successful food service management experience for another school
TRAINING
Annual training will include: HACCP, Food production, Civil Rights, Sanitation, Food Safety, Cash Handling, Point of Sale, Free and Reduced School Meals, Offer vs. Serve, Blood Borne Pathogens and Ethics. Additional training as required by SN Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Adheres to county school food service policies and Train, direct and supervise the work of others. Supervise the daily activity of the school staff and cafeteria to ensure efficient operation. Provides ongoing evaluation of program operations to ensure compliance with state, federal and local regulations. Ensures that district developed menus are followed and foods served are in a manner consistent with USDA Responsible for collecting, counting and auditing monies received and for handling Prepares and maintains accurate inventory records, production records, HACCP records, work schedules and mandatory federal and state reports to ensure Maintains a confidential, current and accurate roster of students. Promotes and maintains high standards of sanitation, according to HACCP, USDA, State and local to promotes safety awareness Responsible for accountability, maintaining and operation of equipment and technology; ensuring facilities are in operable Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with School Nutrition Maintains and ensures accuracy of employee's time sheets and attendance Develops and promotes a positive atmosphere and image of the cafeteria and the cafeteria Evaluates the productivity and efficiency of the School Nutrition assistant managers and assistants; resolves complaints and grievances and provides input to the School Nutrition Supervisor regarding disciplinary issues as Dispenses nutritional documents as Stays abreast of current trends and developments in the School Nutrition profession and shares with other school nutrition Attends workshops, classes and training as required to upgrade skill Employee is expected to possess interpersonal relationship skills necessary to maintain a harmonious work Performs all other duties as assigned by the School Nutrition
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is considered moderate to heavy physical work requiring lifting up to 50 pounds. Must be able to withstand heat and standing for long periods of time. Some walking, moving climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling can be involved.
