JOB SUMMARY
: Responsible for assisting the production supervisor in supervising employees, and production process in various departments. This position is also responsible for ensuring that all safety procedures and policies are being followed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
: Assist production supervisors with the daily operation of assigned area. Assist in training of co-workers. Plan and coordinate shift activities in assigned area. Assist in planning and implementing process improvements. Ensure compliance with established food safety programs, including HACCP programs, SSOPs and GMPs. Effectively communicate with all levels of employees. Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Attend meetings and trainings as required Assist in promoting facility safety program and a safe working environment. Performs other duties as assigned by facility administration.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of poultry processing environment. Must possess clear written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. General computer skills, as well as experience with Microsoft Office programs. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes to the needs of production. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire 8-hour shift. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Bilingual is a plus.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent. Prefer 2-4 years' lead experience in poultry or meat processing environment.
