Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Shift Supervisor position in the Global Coating Division. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will supervise, train, motivate, and mentor approximately 10-20 production employees within the Galvanizing facility. Responsible for the direct supervision of Floor Supervisors, box persons, and dealers. Follows all department procedures, safety regulations, and shop floor policies and procedures. Responsible for the operation of the production floor during the shift, including assigning stations, duties for all staff and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed. Additionally, you will implement and assign work schedule to maximize utilization of manpower, machines, and equipment. Defines expected production standards and monitors performance standards of assigned personnel. Observe assigned personnel to ensure the proper operation of assigned equipment. Ensure inspection checks and quality assurance are occurring to produce high quality products. Promote a continuous productivity improvement climate that encourages suggestions for operational improvement. Administer and support company policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner. Train new employees about divisional and organizational activities and safety policies and procedures. What it takes Required Qualifications Two years of experience in supervisory or management position with a proven record of strong leadership capabilities (excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills) The ability to recognize hazardous substance and to know basic employee responsibilities for chemical safety The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results The ability to use simple computer entry software Highly qualified candidates will also possess: Bachelors Degree or Associate Degree Five years of experience in a supervisory or management position Strong leadership skills and the ability to support divisional business objectives The ability to calculate figures such as pay changes for employees, proportions and percentages, and product dimensions A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
