Job Description

Job Requirements Starting Pay Range:
$17 - $22/hr. Flexible Shift The Kitchen Coordinator enhances the experience of events at the Mary C. Winder Community Center, through the management of and organization of all food service. In this role, you are responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, as well as training and supervising event staff and volunteers. With your leadership and positive energy, you will be the driving force behind the success of these events. What you will do as a
Kitchen Coordinator:
Plans menus and assists in the preparation of meals and snacks for afterschool, summer camp, and teen programs. Plans menus for community dinners, ensuring they are balanced and healthy. Ensures proper implementation of all kitchen procedures, sales transactions and banking responsibilities. Maintains regular communication with Events Manager on concession stand schedule and event needs. Creates and manages and a concessions kitchen budget. Provides monthly reports to supervisor. Tracks cost analysis of products to ensure profitability. Responsible for upholding the highest safety and cleanliness standards. Maintains a clean and healthy work environment to include washing and sanitizing dishes, pots, pans, food preparation surfaces and all kitchen equipment. Adheres to proper food handling and sanitation procedures to assure that food produced is safe and free from harmful toxins and bacteria. Responsible for all purchasing and inventory control for the concession kitchen. Ensures timely submission of all invoices and receipts. Hiring, training, scheduling, and managing a high performing event staff and volunteers focused on providing exceptional service. Guide and assist event staff in job performance and resolution of patron issues and challenges. Promotes and recruits volunteers. Maintains thorough knowledge of the Point of Sale system. Processes transactions and makes change with minimal error. Attends recommended training programs, staff meetings, and in-service sessions related to food service duties. Evaluates each event at completion to determine recommendations for future event concessions needs.

Work Experience To be successful as a Kitchen Coordinator, you'll need: High School Diploma or equivalency required. 1 -2 years' experience working and/or volunteering at concessions stand or in food service. Supervisory experience preferred. Must possess the ability to count money and make correct change. Ability to use Point of Sale system required. Experience in cash reconciliation and ensuring compliance with accounting protocols. Experience in menu planning. Outstanding customer service, organizational and communication skills. The ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. A flexible work schedule based on event needs, including nights and weekends.
