Bakery Trainer/Back of House Shift Lead Fox in the Snow - 1.0 Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time $21 - $24 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Performance reviews Bakery Baking Shift management Delegation Food service management Full Job Description About the Role We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bakery Trainer / Back-of-House Shift Lead to lead daily bakery production and help train and develop our back-of-house team. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who loves baking, thrives in a fast-paced café environment, and enjoys coaching others to succeed. In this role, you will oversee bakery and prep operations during your shifts, ensure products are prepared to our quality standards, and train new team members on recipes, routines, and food safety procedures. What You'll Do Training & Team Development Train new bakers and kitchen team members on recipes, production routines, and opening procedures Certify team members on station skills and company standards Provide real-time coaching and constructive feedback Maintain training checklists and track team progress Shift Leadership Lead daily bakery and prep operations during assigned shifts Assign tasks and ensure production is completed accurately and on time Communicate product shortages, equipment issues, and staffing needs to management Production & Quality Control Prepare pastries and prep items according to recipes and standards Verify product appearance, taste, and freshness before service Ensure products are properly labeled, dated, and stored Minimize waste and support efficient production planning Food Safety & Sanitation Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment Follow all company and health department standards Complete temperature logs, cleaning tasks, and opening/closing checklists Inventory & Organization Monitor ingredient and packaging levels Receive and organize deliveries Rotate inventory using FIFO practices Keep bakery and storage areas clean and organized Qualifications 1-3 years of bakery, café kitchen, or food production experience Previous experience training or leading others preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed Skills We're Looking For Leadership and coaching Organization and time management Attention to detail Dependability and accountability Clear communication Problem-solving Physical Requirements Stand for extended periods Lift and carry up to 50 pounds Perform repetitive baking and prep tasks Work in hot and cold environments Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly pay Overtime eligibility in accordance with applicable law Benefits package available to eligible employees
