Job Description

Description Lead Floor Janitor JBS is seeking an hourly Lead Floor Janitor Team Member! Position starts at $21.50 per hour. Benefits Include Paid vacation and holidays Medical, dental and vision benefits 401(k) plan Better Futures Program Onsite Cafeteria Career development opportunities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness of floors, machinery, and trash in all assigned areas. Set up rooms properly before production startup (e.g. placing floor mats, positioning inedible bins, trash cans, gondolas) Coordinate team members to cover departmental cleaning needs including trash & trim removal and floor sanitation. Oversee cleaning of machines during breaks and lunches, ensuring thorough & on time sanitation. Operate warehouse heavy equipment such as pallet jacks, when required. Report hazards, equipment malfunctions, or damaged tools immediately to the supervisor. Cross-train team members on equipment and processes, such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Manage cleaning tools and supplies to ensure proper storage and availability. Provide continuous training to employees on safety, sanitation, and proper cleaning techniques. Follow and enforce safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to chemical handling guidelines. Develop backup plans and train team members to handle critical tasks during headcount shortages. Responsible for bloodborne pathogen cleanup, following established protocols. Follow and enforce safety and food safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and chemical handling guidelines. Perform periodic inspections to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations. Motivate and encourage team members to complete daily tasks effectively and efficiently. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent certification Ability to clearly communicate with team members Good verbal, reading, and written communication skills Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Must be well-organized with good attention to detail Display strong work ethic and positive attitude Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but unsupervised instructions and to deal with problems involving a different variables. Strong desire to work hands-on work environment Good attendance and safety records Must be 18 years of age or older Work Environment The work environment may include cold and/or hot temperatures.
