Kitchen Supervisor The Good Day Cafe Part-time Pay rate $16.00+ per hour based on experience Ready to work for an organization that has devoted 50+ years to empowering individuals and enriching the lives of people with disabilities? We are still growing, and our employment needs are expanding! Join our team to support us in this journey. We are seeking a part-time Cafe Kitchen Supervisor for our coffee shop. The successful candidate will possess high energy with Kitchen and/or Supervisory experience as well as some experience with individuals with disabilities preferred. Excellent coaching and interpersonal skills are required. Attention to detail is a must as well as the ability to multitask with frequent interruptions. Must work well as a team with Cafe Manager and other leadership at Strawberry Fields, Inc. Inspire and motivate staff to build a positive working environment. Job duties include baking, job coaching, and possessing the versatility to step into different roles as needed. This individual should be a self-starter that works well with a team and has a willingness to support the needs of our staff of varied abilities. Cafe hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am-3pm, Saturdays 8am-2pm, closed Sundays. Part-time is working up to 25 hours per week. Schedule will include opening shifts as early as 6am, closing shifts as late as 5pm, along with rotating weekends. Be committed to providing great customer service, adding to a positive working environment, and serving great drinks and food Multi-task and remain calm during times of high volume Support your team, mentor and coach less-experienced teammates, and understand your ever-present ability to improve in this position and as a team member Kitchen Supervisor Responsibilities Ensure the safety, cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen by utilizing ServSafe guidelines and performing daily product spot checks Work directly with the Cafe Manager and the Social Enterprise Supervisor to grow the reach and the mission of Good Day Cafe Oversee the kitchen staff while maintaining safety precautions, make sure FIFO are followed Monitor cooking and chill temperatures; also, monitor product expiration dates and maintain a food waste log Manage people and oversee production in Back of the House Attend/Complete training when required/offered such as ServSafe Provide various support to all Front of the House and Back of the House staff during shifts, as needed Develop and organize Back of the House through efficiency, cleaning, maintenance, equipment care, and ordering and receiving Deal directly with Front of the House to resolve any issues Record inventory following FIFO inventory method Work with leadership team to create/update menu, pastry and catering items Provide catering services for functions at multiple off-site locations and assist with deliveries as needed. Participate in the development and growth of our outreach programs, catering, bottled latte wholesale program and food truck Assist and coach employees as needed Help to foster a fun and positive working environment Physical demand Ability to exert light to moderate physical activity as it relates to lifting, walking, standing for long periods of time, taking out trash and recycling, transporting catering orders, repetitive stooping and bending to access ingredients. Minimum Qualifications Must have access to own transportation (i.e., walking, biking, bus, or vehicle) Must have a PA driver's license for a minimum of 3 years. Customer service experience plus previous experience in food service is highly desirable Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred Criminal background check required Professional and Personal references required Must have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work as part of a team, and to build relationships with consumers, staff, families, and the community One-year commitment preferred Join Our Dynamic Team and Empower Individuals and Enrich Lives!
