This role leads department associates, manages inventory and labor, and maintains food safety and company standards. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Direct daily frozen department operations to ensure shelves, doors, and displays are fully stocked and customer‑ready Manage ordering, receiving, inventory control, and proper rotation of frozen products Ensure freezers maintain correct temperatures and products are handled safely Maintain clean, organized backroom and freezer areas Merchandising & Standards Execute merchandising plans, seasonal sets, and promotional programs Ensure accurate signage, labeling, facing, and display standards Monitor damaged product, dates, and shrink to minimize loss Customer Service Deliver excellent customer service and support customer inquiries or requests Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting department environment Team Leadership & Development Hire, train, coach, and develop frozen department associates Create schedules that align labor to sales and workload Assign daily tasks, monitor performance, and reinforce accountability Promote teamwork, engagement, and a positive work culture Sales & Performance Drive sales through strong execution, in‑stock performance, and presentation Monitor department performance including sales, shrink, and labor Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company policies Enforce proper lifting techniques, equipment use, and freezer safety Maintain safe, clean, and organized work areas Qualifications Previous grocery or food department leadership experience preferred Knowledge of inventory management, merchandising, and food safety standards Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills Ability to work in cold environments and perform physical tasks including lifting and extended standing Ability to work flexible schedules including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays Core Competencies Leadership and accountability Operational execution Organization and attention to detail Time management and productivity Customer‑focused mindset
Pay Transparency:
Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay- , PTO/Vacation pay
