Food Truck Shift Lead Songbird Located at Meanwhile Brewing Co. About the Role Songbird is a staple food truck at Meanwhile Brewing in Austin, Texas. We serve up high quality fried chicken sandwiches, smash burgers, and fries to a massive, loyal crowd. We are looking for an energetic, hands on shift lead to run smooth shifts, maintain our high standards, and lead our team with passion. This role is the connector between FOH hospitality, BOH cooking, and day to day truck operations. Our ideal lead is a natural people person who brings great energy to guests and team members, stays composed under pressure, and isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when technical or operational issues arise. What You'll Do Run the
Shift:
Manage daily truck operations during busy weekend rushes, ensuring the line moves quickly and standards remain sky high. Lead the
Team:
Mentor staff, ensure everyone is aligned, and foster a positive, supportive work environment. Be the Face of the
Truck:
Connect with guests, manage the expediting window, and handle customer service issues with grace.
Problem Solve:
Perform practical troubleshooting on equipment and handle operational hurdles on the fly without waiting for direction.
Non Negotiable Qualifications Bilingual:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to lead staff and interact with our diverse guest base smoothly.
Experience:
1-2 years of supervisory experience in food service is preferred.
Certification:
Valid Food Safety Manager certificate (or the ability to obtain one immediately).
Operational Readiness:
Ability to use Toast and handle basic tech troubleshooting.
Physical Demands:
Able to stand for 8+ hours, lift 50 lbs, and work in a fast paced, hot trailer environment.
Availability:
Must be able to work nights and weekends. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday. What We Offer $18 hourly rate plus tips. $250 monthly health insurance reimbursement Free shift meals and employee discounts. A fun, fast-paced work environment alongside a fantastic community of food trucks.
