Frozen Food Supervisor

Position Overview The Frozen Supervisor leads the frozen department's daily operations, ensuring product quality, strong in-stock conditions, and a clean, organized shopping environment. This role is responsible for driving sales, controlling shrink, and leading the team to execute company standards efficiently and safely. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Oversee receiving, stocking, rotation, and inventory control of frozen products Ensure proper storage, handling, and temperature integrity at all times Maintain high in-stock levels while minimizing out-of-stocks Keep freezer and backroom areas organized for efficient workflow Customer Service & Sales Provide excellent customer service and assist with product inquiries Maintain full, faced, and visually appealing freezer cases Execute pricing, signage, and promotional displays accurately Support department sales through strong execution and availability Team Leadership & Development Train, coach, and supervise frozen department employees Assign daily tasks and ensure completion and productivity standards are met Provide feedback and reinforce company policies and expectations Foster a positive, team-oriented, and accountable work environment Merchandising & Standards Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO) and remove damaged or expired items Maintain clean, organized, and well-merchandised cases and aisles Execute planograms, seasonal sets, and display changes Food Safety & Compliance Monitor freezer temperatures and ensure food safety compliance Report equipment issues and safety concerns immediately Enforce all company policies, procedures, and safety standards Operational & Financial Support Assist with inventory counts, ordering accuracy, and shrink control Track department performance including sales and labor efficiency Support labor planning to meet productivity goals Qualifications Previous grocery or frozen department experience preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work in a cold, fast-paced environment Basic math and computer skills Flexible availability including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays Key Competencies Inventory Control & Product Rotation Attention to Detail Leadership & Team Development Time Management Operational Execution Customer Focus Work Environment Frozen/refrigerated environment with extended cold exposure Frequent lifting, stocking, and bending (40-60 lbs) Fast-paced, physically demanding retail setting
