Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS
At minimum 2+ years experience as a cook in a Hospital/Assisted Living Facility/Skilled Nursing Facility or other healthcare facility (Preferred). 1-2 years Management experience. Ability to coordinate/guide a team efficiently. Must be able to help create & deliver multiple menus for altered diets. Ability to prepare meals in accordance with facility standards ensuring food quality requirements are maintained (understanding all food guidelines and those that we adhere to by multiple agencies). Must possess excellent leadership skills and independent thinking. Available for some on-call and leadership support to Director. Maintain education requirements with staff by ensuring they are properly trained for the job, in addition to continual training annually.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to learn company business operations and its culture and foster a similar spirit of learning and continuous development in others. Sincere and enthusiastic interest in the senior care experience with a caring and patient demeanor. Supervise and coordinate food standards for preparation, storage and serving of food with dietary staff Monitoring and maintaining sanitation practices and kitchen safety standards Assist with training staff in accordance with facility standards ensuring all food preparation, sanitation and safety standards are followed Maintain communication with director at all times with any concerns or issues Maintain mature judgment and behavior at all times Maintain food temperature and refrigeration logs Ensure all food preparation and cleanliness of kitchen is done according to menus posted and cleaning checklist Consistently contributes to a positive working atmosphere with dietary staff, nursing staff and residents Maintain equipment, ensuring equipment is clean and in good working condition Communicate with director and/or maintenance department of any equipment issues Multi-task and handle any issues or concerns that may arise in the absence of director Maintain organization and cleanliness of kitchen

From $18.00 per hour
