Food and Beverage Director
Job Description The Food & Beverage Director is responsible for the leadership, management, and overall success of all food, beverage, and pool service operations at Galveston Country Club. This individual will oversee daily dining operations, banquet and private event services, bar operations, staff development, member satisfaction, budgeting, financial performance, and service standards. The successful candidate will be a visible and engaged leader who is passionate about hospitality, team development, and creating exceptional member experiences.
Candidate Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive food and beverage management experience.
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
- Private club experience strongly preferred.
- CMAA involvement and/or pursuit of CCM designation preferred.
- Hospitality or Business degree preferred.
Educational Requirements Required Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in food and beverage operations, hospitality management, private clubs, resorts, hotels, or upscale restaurants.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets, labor costs, inventory controls, and service operations.
Proven success in staff leadership, training, and team development. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Club Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management, Business Administration, Culinary Management, or a related field.
Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation or active pursuit of CCM certification through the Club Management Association of America (CMAA).
Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE) designation or equivalent hospitality certification.
Private Club Management Institute (BMI) coursework through CMAA.
Certified Hospitality Supervisor (CHS), ServSafe Manager Certification, or similar hospitality credentials.
Advanced training in wine, spirits, beverage management, or event management.
Experience working within a member-owned private club environment. Professional Competencies Strong financial and business acumen.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build relationships with members, guests, employees, and Club leadership.
Proven ability to lead in a service-focused, team-oriented culture.
Commitment to continuous professional development and hospitality excellence.
