Production Shift Supervisor for Second Shift Company Overview ATX Specialty Foods is a fast-growing, premier producer of high-quality dips and sauces. Reports to : Production Manager Position Summary As Production Shift Manager, you will lead and oversee all production activities during your assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for executing daily production plans, driving team performance, maintaining compliance with food safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. You will serve as the primary point of contact for frontline production staff and play a critical role in achieving operational targets. Core Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and develop production supervisors and hourly team members during assigned shift. Execute daily production schedules to meet customer demand and company targets. Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and food safety standards at all times. Monitor production performance and address issues in real time to minimize downtime. Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations. Drive accountability and performance through clear communication and leadership presence. Production & Efficiency Achieve ≥95% schedule attainment for assigned shift production plans. Monitor and improve line efficiency, uptime, and labor productivity. Reduce downtime through proactive issue resolution and coordination with Maintenance. Ensure proper staffing and line balancing to meet throughput goals. Lean & Continuous Improvement Support implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, Standard Work). Identify and escalate process improvement opportunities. Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive waste reduction and operational efficiencies on the production floor. Quality & Food Safety Ensure strict adherence to SQF/HACCP, GMP, and sanitation requirements. Monitor product quality and take immediate corrective action when issues arise. Support audit readiness and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensure proper documentation and traceability of production activities. Financial Performance Support labor efficiency by managing staffing levels and productivity. Minimize waste, rework, and product loss during shift operations. Follow production plans to align with cost and budget expectations. Team Leadership & Development Lead by example to promote a positive, high-performance team culture. Train, coach, and develop frontline employees and supervisors. Ensure completion of required training for all team members. Address employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner. Support employee engagement and retention efforts. Safety Enforce all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Achieve zero lost-time incidents and reduce safety risks. Ensure proper reporting and investigation of incidents. Conduct regular safety checks and promote a culture of safety awareness. Required Qualifications 3-5+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food production. 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production environment. Strong understanding of production processes, safety, and quality standards. Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles preferred. Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus. Physical Demands Medium - Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
