In this vital role, you will ensure that nutritional needs are met through high-quality food production, strict adherence to health and safety regulations, and effective team management. Your leadership will directly impact residents' well-being by providing nutritious, appealing meals while maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine clinical nutrition expertise with strong management skills to create a positive dining experience for our residents and patients. Duties Supervise and manage the daily operations of the dietary department, including food preparation, service, and sanitation practices. Lead and manage food service teams, fostering a collaborative environment focused on quality and efficiency. Develop, review, and implement care plans that incorporate nutritional assessments tailored to individual resident needs. Ensure compliance with all health regulation policies, food safety standards, and local health codes related to food service health code compliance. Oversee food production processes, including menu planning, portion control, and food safety management to guarantee nutritious and appealing meals. Conduct patient assessments related to nutrition status, including managing tube feeding protocols and performing diagnostic evaluations when necessary. Utilize electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation of dietary plans, patient progress, and regulatory reporting. Monitor budgets for the dietary department, managing costs effectively while maintaining high-quality service delivery. Provide health coaching to residents or patients on nutrition-related topics to promote overall wellness. Ensure staff are trained in food safety management practices, physiology knowledge, and emergency procedures related to dietary services. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living or healthcare settings with a focus on dietary services or nutrition management. Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills in a food service environment. Knowledge of health regulation policies, food service health code compliance, and food safety management standards. Experience with patient assessment techniques including clinical nutrition, tube feeding protocols, and diagnostic evaluation processes. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for managing electronic health records related to dietetics and care plans. Excellent leadership abilities combined with effective communication skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Understanding of budget management principles within a dietary or food service department. Knowledge of physiology as it relates to nutrition and acute care environments is highly desirable. Ability to supervise food production operations while ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory guidelines. Prior experience managing food service teams in an assisted living or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
