Heritage Hall is currently recruiting for an experienced Director of Food & Nutrition. The Director of Food & Nutrition plans and directs the total operation of the Food & Nutrition Department. The Director is to coordinate the production of food to the highest possible quality by supervising and instructing Food & Nutrition employees. They are to maintain cost-effective purchasing, provide exemplary customer service, and manage the staffing levels of the department.
Food & Nutrition Director Qualifications:
Required - Must meet one of the following qualifications as outlined by the
Virginia Department of Health :
be registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association qualification standards. hold a baccalaureate degree with major studies in food and nutrition from an accredited college or university and have at least two years of experience in a health care food or nutrition service. have completed an approved program in food service supervision which includes major course work in food and nutrition. be certified by the Certifying Board of Dietary Managers of the Dietary Managers Association with major course work in food and nutrition. have successfully completed a U.S. Armed Services course in food service supervision with an emphasis in nutrition. have documented evidence of at least two years' satisfactory work experience in food service supervision and enroll in an approved program within 60 days of accepting responsibility for the position and complete the program within 12 months of enrollment. Must be a graduate of state or ADA approved course in food services One-year experience in hospital or long-term care facility food service Minimum of one-year supervisory experience Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals
