Job Description
Shift Supervisor — Pupatella Pupatella brings authentic Neapolitan pizza — the same way it's been made in Naples for generations — to neighborhoods across the DC area. We're VPN-certified, import our San Marzano tomatoes, and hand-tear our mozzarella fresh every day. No shortcuts, just real Italian tradition served with modern, easygoing hospitality. We're looking for a Shift Supervisor who leads from the floor, supports the team, and knows how to keep a busy restaurant running smoothly without losing sight of the guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who isn't afraid to jump in wherever they're needed. What You'll Do Lead shifts and help set the pace and tone for the team Support servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff throughout service Keep an eye on the entire guest experience and step in before small issues become bigger ones Help manage opening, closing, and shift-change responsibilities Coach team members in the moment and reinforce Pupatella's service and operating standards Coordinate between the front and back of house to keep service flowing Handle guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and good judgment Maintain standards for cleanliness, food quality, hospitality, and safety Support managers with daily operational needs and team communication What We're Looking For Previous restaurant experience required; leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Confident leading a team during busy, high-volume shifts Strong communicator who can give direction while remaining approachable and supportive Organized, dependable, and comfortable making decisions in the moment Leads by example and is willing to jump into any position when the team needs help Strong understanding of hospitality and what makes a great guest experience Someone interested in growing with Pupatella and taking on greater responsibility
