Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Kitchen Exhaust Cleaner and play a vital role in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of commercial kitchen ventilation systems. In this energetic position, you will be responsible for thoroughly cleaning and inspecting kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, and fans to ensure compliance with safety standards and prevent fire hazards. Your proactive approach will help keep commercial kitchens running smoothly while adhering to strict safety protocols. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors and utilize a variety of cleaning techniques to make a tangible impact on workplace safety. Responsibilities Perform detailed cleaning of kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, fans, and filters using manual tools, pressure washing equipment, and industrial cleaning methods. Safely operate ladders and scaffolding to access high or hard-to-reach areas, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Use hand tools and specialized cleaning equipment to remove grease buildup, debris, and other residues from ductwork and vent systems. Conduct outdoor work in various weather conditions while following all safety protocols, including the use of fire extinguishers when necessary. Handle heavy lifting tasks safely during the removal and installation of cleaning components or equipment. Follow strict safety procedures related to manual handling, industrial cleaning, and duct cleaning operations to prevent accidents. Maintain detailed records of completed work, inspections, and safety checks for compliance purposes. Qualifications Prior experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is preferred; familiarity with kitchen exhaust systems is a plus. Ability to use ladders safely and comfortably for extended periods during cleaning tasks. Knowledge of hand tools, pressure washing equipment, and industrial cleaning techniques. Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE usage, fire extinguisher operation, and safe manual handling practices. Outdoor work experience is advantageous; ability to work in various weather conditions is required. Excellent customer service skills for interacting professionally with clients when needed.
