Position Summary The Starbucks Shift Supervisor (SSV) is responsible for leading daily store operations while creating an exceptional customer experience through quality beverages, operational excellence, and team leadership. Shift Supervisors work alongside baristas while directing the flow of the shift, coaching partners, maintaining Starbucks standards, and ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. This role requires strong leadership, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment. Essential Responsibilities Leadership Lead and direct partners throughout each shift. Deploy partners effectively based on customer demand and operational needs. Coach partners in real time to uphold Starbucks standards and procedures. Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive team culture. Recognize partner achievements and provide constructive feedback. Assist with onboarding and training new partners. Customer Experience Deliver exceptional customer service while modeling Starbucks' customer-first philosophy. Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly. Ensure beverage and food quality standards are consistently met. Create a welcoming Third Place experience for every guest. Operations Open and close the store following company procedures. Perform cash handling, tills, deposits, and register accountability. Monitor inventory levels and communicate product shortages. Complete shift tasks including cleaning, stocking, and equipment maintenance. Maintain food safety and sanitation standards. Ensure compliance with Starbucks recipes, beverage quality, and operational routines. Teamwork Support baristas during peak business by working all positions as needed. Communicate clearly with leadership and fellow partners. Adapt quickly to changing business demands. Promote accountability while maintaining a supportive work environment. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Previous customer service experience. Ability to lead by example. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Preferred Previous Starbucks experience. Previous supervisory or leadership experience. Experience in food service or hospitality.
