19577 Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Corrections Food Service Leader 2, where you will oversee and coordinate food service operations within Kettle Moraine Correctional institution. This vital role ensures the delivery of nutritious, safe, and high-quality meals to persons in our care while maintaining strict adherence to safety, sanitation, and security protocols. You will manage daily kitchen activities and uphold the highest standards of food handling and customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your leadership will foster teamwork, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the overall well-being of both staff and residents. Duties Supervise daily food preparation, cooking, and serving activities to ensure timely delivery of meals aligned with dietary guidelines. Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste using systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS. Oversee cash handling procedures during meal service and maintain accurate financial records. Train, develop, and evaluate staff members in food safety practices, customer service skills, and operational procedures. Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation protocols, and security policies to uphold a safe environment for staff and residents. Coordinate shift management by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and addressing operational issues promptly. Support kitchen management efforts including food production planning, catering services, and special event preparations such as banquets or celebrations. Qualifications Qualified applicants will have knowledge, training, and/or experience in: Proper methods of food handling. Use of standardized recipes. Use and care of kitchen tools and equipment. Materials, methods, and equipment used in large-scale food preparation. Methods of leading food preparation activities on a large scale efficiently. Quantity cooking in an institutional setting. As of May 20, 2026, new applicants KMCI with no prior permanent employment with the State of Wisconsin in the past five (5) years may be eligible to accept a sign-on bonus of $3,000. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensations Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code.
