Description:
- The Senior Federal Travel Help Desk Specialist serves as a subject matter expert (SME) supporting NASA travel programs by providing comprehensive travel assistance to government and contractor personnel throughout the entire travel lifecycle.
Work Reporting Location:
- This position will begin as fully remote. Candidates must be located within a reasonable commuting distance of a NASA center, as the role is expected to transition to primarily in-office work based on program needs.
- Responsibilities
- : + Travel Policy & Regulatory Guidanceon NASA policy directives, NASA Procedural Requirements, and federal travel regulations.
Requirements:
- + Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship/permanent residency requirements for access to
NASA GSFC.
Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job. Some travel may be required. + Comprehensive knowledge ofFederal Travel Regulation (FTR). + Experience with supporting NASA travel operations, NASA travel management systems and financial processes, coordinating international scientific or programmatic travel. + Familiarity with Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) and NASA Center travel office operations. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), Help Desk ticketing systems, Knowledge Management systems, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Virtual Meeting platforms.Desired:
- + Certifications in Certified Government Travel Professional (CGTP), Global Travel Professional (GTP)
Education and Experience:
- Education -
- Bachelor's degree: Equivalent combination of education and federal travel experience may be substituted.
- Experience -
- + Four or more years of progressively responsible experience supporting federal government travel programs.
