All revenue from tours, merchandise sales, and recording sessions is reinvested into maintaining and improving the studio. The foundation partners with regional educational institutions, including the University of North Alabama and Blackbird Academy, to support music education and recording technology programs. After a major restoration supported in part by Beats Electronics' "Sustain the Sound" initiative, the studio reopened in 2017 in its original 1969 style. Since then, it has welcomed visitors from all 50 states and around the world, strengthening its role as a cultural destination and working studio. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Gift Shop Associate/Tour Guide role based in Sheffield, AL. As a tour guide, this role will lead scheduled tours of the studio, share key historical facts and stories, and engage visitors of diverse ages and backgrounds in an informative and respectful way. The position also supports opening and closing procedures, inventory checks, and coordination with team members and management to ensure smooth daily operations. Qualifications Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Communication, with the ability to engage diverse visitors in a friendly, professional manner. Retail-focused skills, experience promoting merchandise and meeting or supporting sales goals. Basic financial accuracy, including Cash Handling skills and comfort with point-of-sale (POS) systems and standard payment methods. Interest in music history, museums, or cultural attractions, with the ability to learn and confidently present studio history in tours.
