1 Description American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Manager (RD/RDN) for a 26-week travel assignment at an academic medical center, requiring at least 2 years of pediatric acute care experience and an active CA license. Details Acute care hospital setting within a large academic teaching and research medical center Clinical Nutrition Manager role focused on pediatric patients Day shift schedule: 5x8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Floating is required Weekend rotation with the inpatient adult team approximately every 2 months or as needed Cerner EMR experience required Extensive clinical skill set required spanning enteral/parenteral nutrition, metabolic conditions, renal disease, GI disorders, oncology, and critical care nutrition support (see requirements for full detail) Requirements Active CA RN/dietitian license required (must be valid and active at time of consideration) Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required Minimum 2 years of overall work experience with at least 2 years of pediatric acute care experience Acute care hospital/ICU experience required Cerner EMR experience required Proficiency in enteral and parenteral nutrition, including TPN and tube feedings Experience managing complex conditions including renal disease (dialysis/hemodialysis/CRRT), diabetes/DKA, heart failure, cirrhosis, cancer, morbid obesity, malnutrition syndromes, and dysphagia Skills in nutrition assessments/reassessments, Nutrition Focused Physical Exam (NFPE), fluid/electrolyte management, and therapeutic diet orders Familiarity with clinical pharmacology relevant to nutrition: insulin, diuretics, immunosuppressants, steroids, laxatives, appetite stimulants, and pressors Must pass an EKG exam (pass/fail; up to 3 attempts) At least one supervisory/director/manager professional reference from within the past year, from the relevant unit A second professional reference acceptable from within the past 2 years (charge nurse, co-worker, or educator) Full 7-year work history with any gaps explained Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates are accepted No RTO (time off requests) permitted within the first 2 weeks of the assignment; any RTO requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration and cannot be changed once submitted Candidates who have previously been employed by this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler, and may require additional approval prior to assignment No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling Work environment emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based practice, and participation in protocol and program development Strong institutional focus on health equity and serving a large, diverse patient population across a broad regional catchment area Dietitians are valued contributors with meaningful input across multidisciplinary teams
