Job Description

MUSEUM AMBASSADOR
The Delaware Art Museum is seeking experienced customer service professionals, preferably with a security and artistic background, to join our Museum Ambassadors team. Respected and trusted members of the Museum staff, our Ambassadors will ensure our guests receive high quality customer service while also keeping the artwork protected. Ambassadors will divide their time between maintaining a care-taking presence in the galleries and operating the security console behind the scenes. Ambassadors will be trained in guest services, security and safety best practices, and the Museum's collections and exhibitions. We want individuals with a passion for customer service and art.
The Museum Ambassadorwill:
  • Ensure our Museum guests have an outstanding experience.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the Museum's collection in order to share with guests.
  • Be the congenial bridge between the Museum's guests and artwork security
  • Maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).
  • Work events such as but not limited to weddings, dinner parties, staff functions etc. including set up and breakdown.
  • Be fully up to date and implementing all best practices outlined in the Museum's manuals, policies & procedures, and emergency plans and responses. We are seeking enthusiastic candidates with knowledge and/or experience:
  • Problem solving and creative thinking.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Security experience a plus.
  • Highly motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to work weekends and be flexible with scheduling

  • Punctual and have reliable transportation
