CLASSIFICATION MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma, or its equivalent, and one year of related experience.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Greet and welcome guests to the museum. Interact with all visitors and staff of the museum in a professional and positive manner. Provide excellent customer service and provide general and directional information to guests. Perform routine patrol of galleries and public spaces. Monitor guest compliance with museum policies and report non-compliance through verbal and written communication. Provide front desk coverage on an as-needed basis. Provide escorts as needed to secure areas within the museum. Assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, chairs, and tables for museum activities and events. Practice de-escalation techniques when dealing with aggressive or disruptive behavior. Professionalism, reliability, dependability and adherence to schedules are required. Other duties as assigned.
EXPECTED SALARY
$15 per hour
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Flexibility for varied schedules to include nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the museum.
PREFERRED
Previous experience in a security and/or customer service role Ability to work as part of a team and project a positive attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience working and communicating with individuals of diverse backgrounds Knowledge of basic first aid, or CPR/First Aid/AED certification a plus
