Job Summary Nickel Plate Railbikes is looking for friendly, dependable, and energetic team members to help create a memorable experience during our Holiday Light Railbike Adventure. Holiday Light Railbike Tour Guides help guests safely enjoy an outdoor railbike ride through a festive display of holiday lights. This is a hands-on, guest-facing position that requires enthusiasm, teamwork, attention to safety, and the ability to work outdoors throughout the winter season. Schedule Applicants must be available Thursday through Sunday evenings from mid-November through December. Additional weekday and holiday shifts may also be scheduled. Evening and weekend availability is required. Training will begin in early October with shifts starting in mid-November. Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, helpful customer service Assist with guest check-in, waivers, and boarding Explain ride procedures and deliver clear safety instructions Safely load and unload guests from railbikes Help stage, move, space, and organize railbikes Guide railbike tours and monitor guests throughout the experience Communicate with team members using radios and established procedures Flag railroad crossings and assist with other safety-related responsibilities Help serve hot chocolate and distribute guest items when assigned Set up, clean, reset, and close guest and operational areas Assist with nightly setup and teardown Respond calmly and professionally to guest questions or operational concerns Follow all Nickel Plate Railbikes safety policies and operating procedures Help create a cheerful and welcoming holiday experience Work Environment and Physical Requirements This position is primarily outdoors. Employees should expect to work in cold temperatures and changing winter conditions, including wind, rain, snow, and other inclement weather.

Applicants must be able to:

Remain outdoors for the duration of the shift Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, reach, push, pull, and assist with moving or staging railbike equipment Safely navigate railroad tracks, gravel, uneven ground, and low-light conditions Work around moving railbike equipment and active railroad operations Communicate clearly with guests and coworkers in a busy outdoor environment Wear appropriate winter clothing and footwear beneath or in addition to the provided uniform Railbike tours operate in most weather conditions. Team members must be prepared to report for scheduled shifts unless operations are officially canceled. Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old Friendly, dependable, and comfortable interacting with the public Safety-minded and able to follow detailed procedures Able to communicate clearly and professionally Comfortable working as part of a team Able to remain calm and helpful in a busy guest-service environment Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Previous customer service, tourism, recreation, or outdoor work experience is helpful but not required Uniforms are provided.
