Part Time We're hiring a Live Science Performer to join our team! Do you love to perform, connect with an audience and make learning fun? Join the team at Exploration Place as a Live Science Performer and combine the fast-paced world of theater with a dynamic, interactive approach to public science education. We are looking for an energetic performer who enjoys being center stage and has a passion for engaging the public. Comprehensive technical and safety training will be provided but we need you to bring the energy and personality. The schedule includes daily performances for museum visitors, plus regular school groups, and special events. This position may require handling chemicals, liquid nitrogen, lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs., and exposure to loud noises. What You'll Do Facilitate hands-on STEM activities at stations throughout the museum and outdoor spaces. Training is provided. Create a welcoming, positive and memorable experience for every guest Engage visitors through conversation, demonstrations and guided exploration Adapt activities for a wide range of ages and learning styles Support daily operations, including setup, cleanup and restocking materials What We're Looking For Enthusiastic and outgoing personality with strong communication skills Interest in science, education, or informal learning environments Experience working with children, camps, education programs, theatre, or customer service preferred. Customer service experience is required. Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Experience working with children and a background in theater, drama, performing or teaching preferred. Customer service experience required. Second languages a plus. Average 20 hours a week, including nights, weekends and holidays. Occasional opportunity for extra hours for other events.
