Tour Guide & Brand Educator Reports to: Hospitality Operations Management Team

LOCATION

Kansas City, MO (On-Site) J. Rieger & Co. Tour Guides & Brand Educators bring our history, spirits, and Kansas City roots to life through engaging and memorable guest experiences. This role leads public and private distillery tours, educates guests about our products and production processes, and supports hospitality operations throughout the distillery. The ideal candidate is energetic, curious, dependable, and comfortable connecting with a wide range of guests. Success in this position requires strong communication and storytelling skills, a genuine passion for hospitality, and an eagerness to develop a deep understanding of the J. Rieger & Co. brand and spirits. Comprehensive brand and product education will be provided, with ongoing learning remaining an important part of the role.

Job Responsibilities:

Lead engaging public and private tours while educating guests about J. Rieger & Co., our spirits, history, and production processes Adapt each experience to guests' interests, answer questions confidently, and provide welcoming, memorable hospitality Support front desk and gift shop operations, including guest check-in, phone calls, merchandise assistance, stocking, and inventory Complete daily side work and maintain the cleanliness, organization, safety, and presentation of the tour path and service areas Attend required training and ongoing brand, product, and spirits education Work independently, manage an organized schedule, and address guest or operational concerns professionally Follow all company policies, procedures, responsible-service requirements, and brand standards Contribute to a positive, collaborative, inclusive, and safe environment for guests and coworkers Perform other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager or Hospitality leadership team Helpful Experience Experience in hospitality, education, public speaking, retail, tourism, theater, or another guest-facing role is preferred Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills Comfortable engaging groups of varying sizes Dependable, organized, self-motivated, and receptive to coaching Enthusiasm for learning about J. Rieger & Co., Kansas City history, whiskey, and the spirits industry Flexible availability, including Saturdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs require

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to remain on your feet and move throughout the distillery for shifts of up to eight hours Ability to lead tours through active production areas and barrel-storage spaces that are not climate-controlled Ability to work in environments with seasonal temperature fluctuations, including periods of heat, cold, and humidity Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 18 pounds Ability to perform repetitive stocking, cleaning, and operational tasks
