Railbike Tourguide Silver Lake Railriders 1381 Village Rd, Silver Lake, NH 03875 From $20 an hour - Part-time, Seasonal From $20 an hour - Part-time, Seasonal Railbike Tour Guide Rail Ventures LLC is the operator of Silver Lake Railriders, a railbike tour operation in Madison, New Hampshire. We are seeking fun and outgoing individuals to serve as railbike tour guides for the 2026 season. These are part-time, seasonal positions available from July through the end of October. We offer flexible schedules for those who would like to work up to five days per week or just a few hours per week. Partial-season employment is available, making these positions especially ideal for students and teachers. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in railroading, cycling, or outdoor recreation.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old Must have reliable transportation to and from the station Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, including pedaling up to three six-mile railbike tours per day, with or without reasonable accommodation. Must be able to operate a railroad motorized trackcar. Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws Must be able to except pay via direct deposit to a checking or savings account. First Aid/CPR certification preferred
Duties:
Engage with customers in a polite and friendly manner Ensure the safety of guests and fellow employees at all times Lead or follow tours by railbike to monitor the track for hazards and assist customers as needed Assist customers with boarding and disembarking at stations and turnaround locations Move railbikes between the storage track and boarding area Turn and reposition railbikes at each end of the line Provide safety and operational briefings prior to each tour Perform light maintenance on equipment Provide first aid in the event of an emergency Staff the ticket, will-call, and merchandise area Answer calls on the customer service line Capture photos and create content for use on social media Share knowledge of local railroad history and the surrounding area Perform other duties as assigned
