A Travel or Tour Guide leads tours for groups of visitors or tourists. Leads tours of museums or famous or historic sites, and provides visitors with details and anecdotes about the history and significance of buildings, artwork or collections. Travels with a group of tourists, plans site visits and daily itineraries, interprets languages, and shares specialized knowledge about a country or city with the group.
Adrenaline Junkies is looking for a reliable, mechanically inclined person to join our off-road adventure team in Nelson, Nevada, near the Colorado River. This is a unique position combining off-road tour guiding with basic mechanical and fleet maintenance work. Some days you may lead guests on Can-Am adventures; other days you may help maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair our UTVs and vehicles. Mechanical ability is important for this position. You do not need to be a master mechanic, but you should be comfortable working with vehicles, using tools, diagnosing basic problems, and performing routine maintenance.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Mechanical / Fleet Work Perform oil and fluid changes Inspect and replace brakes as needed Change tires and assist with tire repairs Check batteries, fluids, belts, filters, and other routine maintenance items Troubleshoot basic mechanical problems Perform minor repairs on Can-Am UTVs and company vehicles Complete pre-tour vehicle inspections Identify problems before they turn into breakdowns Keep tools, parts, and the work area organized Communicate clearly when a repair is beyond your experience or requires additional parts/service Tour Guide / Adventure Operations Lead Can-Am off-road tours through Nevada desert terrain Give guests clear safety briefings and operating instructions Keep guests safe, comfortable, and entertained throughout their experience Assist with guest check-in and waivers Fuel, clean, inspect, and prepare UTVs between tours Clean helmets and goggles Take photos of guests during their adventure Help keep basecamp and the store organized and presentable Occasionally drive company vehicles for guest transportation
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You should be: Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools Familiar with basic vehicle or UTV maintenance Reliable and punctual Comfortable working independently Calm under pressure Friendly and confident with guests Comfortable driving and working outdoors Able to work in desert conditions Willing to learn Able to recognize when you know how to fix something — and when you don't Experience with Can-Am, Polaris, side-by-sides, ATVs, motorcycles, automotive repair, powersports, or small engines is especially valuable.
WORK STRUCTURE
This is an on-call position with variable hours based on tour bookings and maintenance needs. Hours may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional last-minute bookings. Mechanical work may also be scheduled during periods when tours are not operating. Applicants must understand that the job is located in Nelson, Nevada 89046 and be able to commute here reliably.
COMPENSATION
$18-$25 per hour, depending on experience, mechanical ability, and performance.
