Job Description Basic Purpose Interpretative Guides facilitate educational programming, serve as guides for areas of interest within a state park or other tourism location, and maintain facility standards. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service, and physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments. This is a seasonal, part-time, entry-level position. Typical Job Duties Lead guided hikes or other outdoor activities. Deliver educational programming. Plan and lead arts and crafts activities. Perform trail, and animal enclosure upkeep, including repairs and cleaning. Assist with routine groundskeeping and facility organization around Nature Center. Greet and assist visitors with professionalism and courtesy. Engage with guests in informed interpretation. Assist in event setup and takedown. Complete daily opening and closing duties for Nature Center. Performs other duties as assigned to support daily operations and agency needs. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. Physical requirements will include the ability to lead walking tours and navigate trails, regular bending, stooping, and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in various weather conditions. Special Requirements Scheduled hours will require flexibility, including holidays, weekends, or events, based on the needs of the agency. Some locations will require a valid Driver's License.
