Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tasting Room Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide enthusiastic and professional customer service while pouring wines and educating guests on our wines, history, and vineyard estate. Passion for and basic knowledge of wine is required. Proven abilities in sales and customer service within a fast-paced environment are also highly desired. Candidate must be available to work weekends, holidays and winery events. Responsibilities Greet and serve guests hospitably Effectively advise and sell wines to guests Answer tasting room phone to field questions, draw consumers to visit, take phone orders and arrange group tours and tastings Provide education about each of our wines, wine tasting practices, winemaking techniques, and winery/winemaker history Provide information on and secure new members for our wine club Handle routine point-of-sale transactions Complete routine housekeeping tasks to maintain a neat and orderly work environment Staff on and off-site winery events as needed Maintain a clean work area Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by manager Qualifications Requires a knowledge of and passion for wine that can be communicated to our guests Proven abilities in sales, customer service and confident interaction with the diverse public Professional appearance and demeanor Outstanding verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills High energy and ability to work well in a fast-paced, team environment Familiarity with and operation of POS systems as well as Microsoft Office Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects with little direction Basic computer and math skills are required Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time Must be at least 21 years of age OLCC service permit and Food Handlers certification are required To be considered for this position please forward a Resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience, and passion for wine, sales and hospitality
