The FLEX Team Member (TM) role delivers impeccable, friendly, and knowledgeable service to Field Day's guests and members in the Lobby Bar and throughout the building. Based at Field Day Lawrenceville at 3706 Butler Street in Pittsburgh, the role reports to Field Day's F&B Manager, and assists in all aspects of our food, beverage, and event operations.

More specifically:

A Field Day TM prepares beverages and food for customers, as well as supporting all aspects of the Lobby Bar and event operations. While behind the counter, in the bar space, Flex TMs should be ready to operate our point-of-sale, follow all policies and procedures, efficiently and skillfully follow directions to create and serve our product, and be able to open and close the bar (sometimes alone). Creatively as a member of our Field Day team, Flex TMs are encouraged to aid in providing feedback about the lobby experience, customer service, ideate new drinks and flavor combinations, and assist in preparing ingredients for our menu items. Trusted with creating meaningful connections with Field Day members and guests, the Flex TM should be knowledgeable about all of Field Day's offerings, any calendar of events, Field Day's facility, and others on the Field Day team to assist in directing guests, members, or potential members to the right place or person, and answering basic questions about Field Day. The Flex TM should be prepared for varying hours each week (part-time), based on our events and scheduling needs, with hours not exceeding 20 per week. They are, however, subject to be scheduled for daytime and evening offerings and coverage, unless these hours are not within their written availability. Written availability must be submitted by the employee upon start-date, and it is the responsibility of the employee to keep their availability up-to-date and to submit requests for time off in a timely manner. The Flex TM will also be scheduled for our events, both public and private. Event procedures will vary, but the Flex TM should expect to set up, operate service, and tear down the bar (mobile rooftop bar and lobby bar), provide catering service, check IDs and wristband guests if necessary, as well as other special circumstances that may arise. The hourly wage for events is prorated, and the opportunity to make more tips is present. In addition, but not limited to these responsibilities and tasks, it is expected that the Field Day Flex TM will be an enthusiastic and self-starter, ready to lend a hand to any task at their own initiative and/or at the direction of the Field Day F&B Manager or General Manager.

We expect our Flex TM to be a friendly, welcoming presence in the cafe, and throughout the building, proactive in engaging with Field Day customers whether they are coming for a coffee, meeting, their normal day, or a special occasion.

The ideal candidate will be ambitious and intellectually curious about our vision and goals, and have an appreciation for the experience we are attempting to create broadly, and obviously specific to food, beverage, and retail.

Acting at Field Day's literal front door, we expect the Flex TM (and our whole lobby team) to have a sense of pride surrounding Field Day's daily operations and standards. An ideal candidate is someone that treats Field Day as their own, caring about the quality and outcome of each day and our community's growth and experience.

Availability :

We are seeking someone who is happy to be cross trained. This person needs to be able to open the Lobby Bar in the mornings working as a barista or be here in the evenings making cocktails. We are happy to provide extra training in areas where it might be needed. Ideally this person is also open to working occasional weekend and evening event hours. Compensation For general shifts (AM or PM), the Flex TM will be paid at a rate of $15 per hour plus a portion of tips of the time worked. For private events, the Flex TM will be paid at a rate of $23 per hour. Skills + Requirements Valid Driver's License Can-do, optimistic spirit Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills High ethical standards and integrity Prior barista/bartending and/or food service experience Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices is a plus Passion for coffee, food, and service Ability and willingness to stand for extended periods of time Ability and willingness to lift miscellaneous items up to 20 lbs. Ability and willingness to learn and operate a point-of-sale Ability to work in a fast-paced environment RAMP certification (will provide if missing)
