Job Description

Position Overview DOCENT is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Cultural Experience Guide to lead immersive cultural experiences throughout the Franklin and greater Middle Tennessee area. This is a part-time, flexible position ideal for individuals who are passionate about art, history, education, sports and creating meaningful experiences for others. As a DOCENT Guide, you will facilitate interactive presentations and discussions for diverse audiences, with a particular focus on older adults in senior living communities. Programs typically last 60-90 minutes and are designed to be educational, conversational, and highly engaging. All presentation materials, training, and program content will be provided by DOCENT. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic communicator who enjoys storytelling, lifelong learning, and making a positive impact in the community. Position Details Part-Time, Flexible Schedule 2-hours long engagement, multiple times per week Competitive compensation: $50/hour Travel within the Franklin and Middle Tennessee area Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Art History required; Master's degree preferred. Passion for art, history, culture, and lifelong learning. Genuine interest in serving older adults and enhancing quality of life through educational experiences. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Natural storyteller with the ability to captivate and engage audiences. Strong listening skills and the ability to foster meaningful discussion. Energetic, professional, organized, and adaptable. Ability to connect with diverse audiences across different age groups and backgrounds. Experience working within senior living communities is preferred, but not required. Comfortable working independently and traveling to off-site locations. Key Responsibilities Deliver engaging and interactive cultural experiences in a variety of community settings. Lead discussions that encourage participation, curiosity, and personal connection. Create a welcoming and life enriching environment for participants of all backgrounds and abilities. Present art, history, and cultural topics in an accessible and compelling manner. Adapt presentation style and pacing to meet the needs of different audiences. Represent DOCENT with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm. Travel to program locations throughout the Franklin and Middle Tennessee area.
