Ghost City Tours is looking for energetic, engaging individuals to lead unforgettable walking tours through some of America's most historic cities. This isn't just another customer service job. Whether you're an actor, teacher, museum guide, history enthusiast, comedian, performer, or simply someone who loves being in front of people, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Do As a Ghost City Tour Guide, you'll: Lead 90-minute walking tours through historic districts Tell compelling stories about local history, legends, hauntings, and folklore Engage audiences through storytelling, humor, and performance Create memorable guest experiences while confidently leading groups Answer guest questions and manage groups in a fun, professional manner Who Thrives Here This position is a great fit for people with backgrounds in: Theater, acting, improv, or performance Teaching or education Museums, historic sites, or interpretation Public speaking or presentations Hospitality and guest experience Event hosting or entertainment If you've ever been told you have a "big personality," enjoy being on stage, or love sharing interesting stories, you'll likely enjoy this role. Job Details Tours last approximately 90 minutes (up to 2 hours for specialty tours) Walking distance is approximately 1 mile Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required Tours operate year-round in most weather conditions Must be comfortable walking, standing, and speaking for extended periods Compensation Training $7.25/hour After Training $50 base pay per tour + tips Typical earnings range from $50-$150+ per tour , with top guides earning substantially more through tips. Weekly direct deposit Performance incentives Advancement opportunities Flexible part-time scheduling Minimum Qualifications Excellent communication and public speaking skills Confident speaking in front of groups Friendly, outgoing personality Dependable and punctual Reliable transportation Must live within 20 miles of the tour location Preferred Experience (Not Required) Experience in any of the following is a plus: Acting, theater, improv, or performance Teaching or education Museum or historical interpretation Hospitality or tourism Customer service Tour guiding Event hosting History or local knowledge No Experience?
