Job Description

Minimum Starting Salary:
$16.00 hourly, depending on qualifications. City of Waco Seeks A customer-focused, part-time Historic Site Assistant to join our team. This role will provide customer assistance, tours, and cashiering services to the public at the Waco Mammoth National Monument (WMNM) historic site. If you love working with people, this role is for you. Job Summary Under basic supervision, provides customer assistance, tours, and cashier service to the public for the Waco Mammoth National Monument (WMNM) historic site.
Qualifications Required:
H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent 1 year customer service experience Valid Texas Driver's License Must successfully complete any additional background checks required for the position, which may include a CJIS background check, federal background check, or other applicable screenings (e.g., FAA). Essential Functions Provides courteous service to the public with tours and information, fee collection and merchandise sales; performs duties within scope of authority and training and in compliance with City policies. Leads tours of the WMNM and explains history and details of the historic site. Maintains cash and fund accounts and records Assists with merchandising, special events, and museum programs; cleans and maintains facilities and grounds. Operates a City utility vehicle to access various work sites and transport people, equipment, and materials; occasionally uses a personal vehicle to attend community outreach and engagement events.
