Job Description

Tour Guide George Washington Masonic National Memorial - 2.6 Alexandria, VA Job Details Part-time $17.50 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Retail sales transactions Safety protocol adherence High school diploma or GED Cash register operations Bachelor's degree Time management Full Job Description About us The George Washington Masonic National Memorial is a memorial and museum, a research library, a cultural space, a community and performing arts center, and an important regional landmark. This magnificent nine-story neoclassical structure has been erected and maintained by the Freemasons of the United States as an expression of the high esteem in which the memory of George Washington is held within the Masonic fraternity, and to preserve the history and heritage of American Freemasonry. In 2015, the National Park Service named the Memorial a National Historic Landmark, in recognition that it is "the only major unified, fully national initiative of the Freemasons and among the boldest attempts by a private organization to memorialize George Washington." The mission of the Memorial is to inspire humanity through education to emulate and promote the virtues, character and vision of George Washington, the Man, the Mason and Father of our Country. The George Washington Masonic National Memorial Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. The George Washington Masonic National Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia, is seeking to fill the position of Tour Guide. The Memorial is a National Historic Landmark and one of the region's most memorable museums. Tours are one hour in length, and explore the many rooms and galleries of the museum while explaining important aspects of George Washington's history and the American Masonic heritage. The shift is 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a half hour lunch break. The Memorial is open Thursday through Monday. Tour guides work under the direct supervision of the Tour Manager.
