Bike Trip Leader

Overview Teen Treks is seeking bike trip leaders who have a passion for travel, being outdoors and making the difference in the lives of teenagers. Teen Treks is a summer bicycle touring program for youth ages 12-18. Our trips are 1-8 weeks long and we travel in small groups of 10 teens with 2 trip leaders. Our trips cycle throughout popular touring locations in Europe, the US, and Canada, camping outdoors and staying in hostels along the way. We expect our leaders to treat each youth with respect and professionalism. Offering the teens guidance when necessary, yet encouraging healthy independence and growth. Duties Co-lead a group of up to ten teenagers on multi-week bike touring trips Oversee teens as they rotate through roles, helping to empower to develop skills and learn independence Research assigned trips for interesting activities and learning opportunities to incorporate into the tour Effective coordination and communication with parents and office staff before, during and after trip Be able to handle group bike mechanic issues as they arise Problem-solve in times of adverse weather, route redirection and group incidents Be open to spontaneity and be willing to adjust plans as exciting opportunities present themselves! Experience Experience working with teenagers. A love of biking and outdoor adventures Must be a positive role model in the lives of teens Basic understanding of bike mechanics (we can teach you the more advanced stuff) Americorps and Bike & Build Members strongly encourage to apply Lead and supervise team members during shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Pay:

$600.00 per week Application Question(s): We have a required Leadership Training on June 10-14. If selected for the position, would be able to attend?
