Job Description

Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Kayak Guide to lead groups on exciting kayaking adventures on Yellowstone Lake. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the outdoors and enjoy sharing their love for nature with others. As a Kayak Guide, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants while providing educational insights about the local environment. Duties Lead kayaking tours for groups of varying skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. Educate guests about local wildlife, ecosystems, and safety procedures while on the water. Communicate effectively with participants, providing clear instructions and support throughout the tour. Demonstrate strong time management skills to ensure tours run on schedule. Provide excellent customer service by addressing participant needs and concerns promptly. Utilize public speaking skills to engage and inform guests during tours. Maintain kayaks and equipment, ensuring they are in good condition for use. Foster a positive group dynamic through leadership and encouragement. Requirements Previous experience in kayaking or outdoor guiding is preferred but not mandatory. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse groups. Strong leadership qualities to effectively manage group dynamics and ensure participant safety. Excellent customer service skills to create a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. Time management skills to keep tours organized and on schedule. Ability to educate participants about the environment in an engaging manner. Must possess a valid certification in first aid/CPR or be willing to obtain one prior to employment. Pay is dependent on experience and length of trip (half-day paddle, day paddle, sunset paddle, 2 and 3 day overnight trips). Our summer season runs until September 26th. You must be available to work until the end of the season to be considered for this position.
