Job Summary:
The Food Expeditor (Expo) plays a vital role in connecting the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure every dish meets our standards of quality, accuracy, and timing. Acting as the communication hub between cooks, servers, and runners, the Expo ensures that food is prepared, plated, and delivered efficiently and beautifully. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being in the center of the action, thrives on organization and precision, and takes pride in creating seamless guest experiences. Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Coordinate the flow of orders between kitchen and front-of-house to maintain efficient service. Ensure that each dish meets presentation and quality standards before leaving the kitchen. Communicate clearly with cooks, servers, and runners to ensure ticket accuracy and timely delivery. Monitor ticket times and ensure all items on a ticket are completed and sent out together. Oversee and communicate re-fires, ensuring they are handled promptly and correctly. Notify management or chefs immediately of any ticket or quality issues. Support teamwork and smooth operations during peak service hours. Promote a culture of communication, respect, and accountability within the kitchen.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Prior restaurant or kitchen experience preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure. Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask in a high-volume environment. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs. Must hold or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (failure to comply may result in reduced hours until provided). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
