Senior Meals Cook/Server
Job Description
Position Overview:
Plan and prepare meals for SVT Senior Meals Program and Seldovia Conference Center. Support other areas of the Senior Citizens Program such as events and Bingo. Duties and Responsibilities Create, plan and prepare monthly menus and meals Research and devise food recipes Estimate expected food consumption and order/prepare accordingly Maintain inventory of supplies Generate monthly reports Cleans and maintains food preparation areas as determined by law and SVT Policy Support SVT Senior Meal and Conference Center Programs Maintain mailing list of elders Print monthly menus and mail to elders Supervise Senior Meals Server staff Set up tables and dinner settings Set up beverage table and make coffee Launder tablecloths and soiled linens after each meal. Maintain professional atmosphere for Elders and guests Conduct Bingo gaming Other duties as assigned Job Requirements 2+ years' experience as a cook. Current Food Handler Certificate Required, CPR/First Aid. Both provided by SVT. Basic computer knowledge. TB Testing upon hire Mandatory Reporter training - provided by SVT Knowledge of various cooking methods such as grilling, baking, boiling, etc. Ability to follow sanitation procedures Ability to work as a member of a team Organizational skills Verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications Culinary arts education a plus.
