AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Check overall restaurant cleanliness such as glasses, silverware, tables, and the floor. First impression is everything. 2. Acknowledge customers upon arrival, if you can, try to seat them, inform the appropriate server, that they have a table, tell the customer their server (name) will be right with them, give customers a menu. 3. After customers have been served check back with them. Do they need refills on their beverages, is everything ok, do they need anything else? Watch your tables! Plates must be cleared as soon as you can. When possible serve from the left and take from the right. 4. When customers leave, it is your responsibility to clean up and reset your tables. When it is extremely busy the dishwasher will bus tables, and reset tables, (just ask). 5. Rotate your sections accordingly, (teamwork is a must). If this becomes a problem please let the supervisor know. 6. You are responsible for your own side work, so judge your time, check with supervisor, or the next employee in line if it is ok to leave the floor. . You are also responsible for additional side work throughout the month. Please check schedule or ask supervisor. 7. No one will leave the floor until they have checked on their customers. Tell someone that you are leaving the floor.
CASHIERING
1. Ensure all checks have been entered. 2. Make certain all credit card slips have been signed. 3. Put your slips in order, along with your ticket orders. 4. Run the appropriate tapes to get your sales for the day. 5. Fill out the appropriate forms at the end of your shift. 6. You are responsible for making sure your cash and all sales receipts balance.
CLOSING:
Refer to closing procedures (see attached) Place all money, credit card slips, tickets, coupons and the print out of the x and z tape, along with the credit card sales tape in the blue bag. Ensure the computers and printers are operating at beginning of each shift.
EDUCATION
Graduation from high school or equivalent Experience as server, hostess/cashier desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be mentally alert and detail orientated with good reasoning skills. The position involves standing, kneeling, stooping, bending, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying objects that can weigh up to 60 lbs. This can occur several times throughout the day. Must be able to adapt to the climate in the kitchen when the ovens and stoves are on. Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice. Must be able to work extended hours, weekends, nights and holidays when necessary.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work constructively and cheerfully in an environment that may be stressful at times. The employee may be required to participate in more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. The employee must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently and cheerfully under such circumstances. This is a drug free workplace, and it will be enforced.
