Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Server oversees Servers and coordinates service in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to the following: Take meal orders accurately while considering their dietary restrictions and preferences. Serve meals promptly and courteously, provide refills as requested. Provide guidance to serving staff, including assigning tasks and ensuring duties are conducted effectively and efficiently. Train new servers on dining service protocols, including proper etiquette, menu knowledge, and resident interaction. Address any resident concerns or special requests promptly and courteously, ensuring their needs are met with care and attention. Communicate effectively with all other culinary staff to coordinate meal service efficiently. Monitor the quality of service provided by serving staff and provide feedback for improvement as needed. Assist with scheduling and staffing needs. Provide friendly and attentive service to enhance the dining experience. Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and portion sizes to answer resident questions accurately. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines. Collaborate with management to implement and uphold dining service standards and protocols, ensuring a consistently high level of service delivery. Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment among serving staff, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in similar facility or food service. 1-2 years of prior server experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Having positive and effective communication skills with residents and culinary team. Understanding of basic healthcare principles or practices. Demonstrated leadership ability and skilled in managing a team of servers, including scheduling and training. High attention to detail in setting up dining areas, serving food, and adhering to dietary restrictions. Skills in ensuring that service standards are consistently met and that the dining experience is pleasant and efficient. Ability to adapt to the changing needs and preferences of residents, modifying service approaches as necessary. Ability to organize and set up dining services, ensuring timely meal service and adherence to dietary schedules. Familiarity with food safety protocols and infection control measures. Demonstrated leadership experience, such as supervisory or team lead roles. Understanding of the nutritional needs and common dietary restrictions of residents, including knowledge of specialized diets and portion control standards. Understanding of service protocols and best practices in a dining setting, particularly within an assisted living environment, ensuring a dignified dining experience for residents. Problem-solving abilities to promptly address concerns or complaints, with the ability to quickly pivot from one task to the next.
