United States, California, Los Angeles Sep 03, 2026 Department Summary The Luskin Conference Center (LCC) is a 300,000-square-foot, 7-story property on the UCLA campus. The LCC is comprised of 254 guest rooms, approximately 25,000 square feet of meeting space, a 160-seat restaurant, a fitness center, and a business center. The LCC is an academic meeting and conference destination supporting UCLA's education and research mission.

The Luskin Conference Center is a no-tipping environment.

Restaurant Server at Plateia Set inside the award-winning Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center on UCLA's vibrant campus, Plateia is where Mediterranean-inspired cuisine meets world-class university hospitality. We are seeking energetic, customer-focused Restaurant Servers to join our team and deliver gracious, memorable dining experiences to university leaders, visiting academics, and guests from around the world. The Restaurant Server provides customers with courteous and gracious service, ensuring a great dining experience. The role serves as wait staff, buffet attendant, and bar and lounge service. The incumbent serves alcoholic beverages to guests. They make recommendations and answer questions about beverages and menus while providing professional customer service to guests. The primary responsibility of the Restaurant Server is to deliver and serve food and beverage items to guests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner. Salary & Compensation

•UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Qualifications 6-12 months Experience as a food server in a restaurant, casual or fine dining setting (Required)

1+ years Guest service experience in a fast-paced, high-end restaurant (Preferred)

Ability to engage with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner (Required)

Ability to remain calm in the face of adversity, such as customer dissatisfaction (Required)

Ability to sufficiently communicate in written and verbal English to receive work assignments and share information with supervisors and colleagues (Required)

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a fluctuating workload (Required)

Demonstrated ability to prepare beverages and complete single-step food preparation tasks such as slicing bread and arranging food items on a buffet table (Required)

Ability to comply with safety and sanitation standards and procedures for food storage, production, and service (Required)

Math skills sufficient to properly adhere to production and customer payment transactions (Required)

Skill in interacting effectively with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume, public setting using positive body language, direct eye contact, active listening, and friendly and professional demeanor (Required)

Working knowledge of basic culinary techniques, terminology, and practices (Preferred)

Working knowledge of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and spirits (Preferred) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations TIPS California Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) Certification (Preferred) Special Conditions for
