This is a hands-on role — you'll greet and seat guests, take orders, serve drinks, run food, bus tables, handle checks, and help close down the restaurant at night. We're looking for someone with real knowledge of Japanese cuisine (sushi, ramen, kitchen items) and our sake/wine selection, who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced dining room.

Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests, take accurate food and drink orders Explain menu items and suggest pairings; comfortable upselling Prepare and serve drinks, including sake and wine Run food, bus and reset tables, handle checks via Toast POS Answer phones and handle takeout orders, including packing them accurately Perform closing duties: clean the server station, dining room, and restrooms

Requirements:

Familiarity with Japanese cuisine (sushi, ramen, kitchen menu) and basic sake/wine knowledge Prior serving experience preferred; Toast POS experience a plus Able to multitask and stay composed during busy shifts Self-starter — takes initiative without needing direction Friendly, patient, and a strong communicator with guests and teammates Reliable weekend availability, must be able to work Sundays Must be 18+ (California alcohol service requirement) Able to stand, walk, and carry trays for a full shift

From $19.70 per hour Expected hours: 6.0 - 18.0 per week
