Server - Vallejo Taphouse & Restaurant Job Overview Vallejo Taphouse & Restaurant is looking for friendly, dependable, and energetic Servers to join our opening team. We are seeking team members who enjoy working with people, provide attentive service, and can stay organized in a fast-paced restaurant and bar environment. Our servers will be responsible for creating a welcoming guest experience while accurately taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and working closely with the kitchen, bar, and management team. The ideal candidate is personable, professional, efficient, and able to provide great service even during busy periods. Responsibilities Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, professional service Explain menu items, daily specials, beverages, and available options Accurately take food and drink orders and enter them into the POS system Serve food, beer, wine, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages in a timely manner Check identification and follow all California ABC alcohol-service requirements Monitor tables throughout the guest experience and respond quickly to additional requests Ensure orders are accurate and properly presented before serving Communicate special requests, allergies, and modifications clearly to the kitchen and bar Process cash, credit-card, and other payments accurately Maintain clean and organized tables, service stations, and dining areas Assist with running food, bussing tables, resetting tables, stocking, and other side work as needed Work closely with bartenders, cooks, hosts, bussers, and management to provide smooth service Handle guest concerns professionally and notify management when appropriate Follow responsible alcohol-service practices Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies Complete opening, closing, and assigned side-work duties Qualifications Previous serving or restaurant experience preferred Experience in a taphouse, sports bar, casual dining, or high-volume restaurant is a plus Strong customer-service and communication skills Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with a wide variety of guests Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy service periods Ability to accurately handle cash, credit-card transactions, and POS systems Basic knowledge of beer, wine, cocktails, and restaurant food service preferred Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry food, beverages, and service trays California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification required or must be obtained within the legally required timeframe California Food Handler Card required or must be obtained as required Availability We are looking for candidates with flexible availability, including: Days Evenings Weekends Holidays Opening and closing shifts Weekend availability is especially important.
