Job Description

Job Summary The Dietary Server is responsible for providing gracious dining service to residents. Duties include serving and handling food in accordance with federal/state regulations and company policies and procedures. This position may assist with food preparation as directed by the cook. The Dietary Server is also responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen, food storage areas, and dining service areas. They may also assist in the receiving, rotation and storage of products. Responsibilities Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure that all food is handled safely and meets hygiene standards. Help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment. Support residents during meal times by providing excellent customer service and ensuring their needs are met. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, dietitians, and nursing staff regarding residents' dietary restrictions and preferences. Participate in food production activities as needed, including portioning meals and preparing snacks. Assist with inventory management by monitoring food supplies and reporting shortages. Genuine concern for and ability to work with the elderly Follows directions and graciously handles complaints Can juggle multiple tasks without frustration Must be able to utilize standard precaution knowledge and infection control measures where required Schedule Nights and weekends Experience Experience working in a food establishment serving the public or a customer service position. Previous experience in the food service industry or as a Dietary server is preferred but not required. Knowledge of dietetics, nutrition, and food handling practices is a plus. Experience working in assisted living or healthcare settings is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with residents and staff. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
Education:
